As You Are is an all-day affair, a bar, restaurant and bakery that serves seasonal, from-scratch fare dawn and through dusk.

The Lobby is our womb-like hub offering all who pass through a place to enjoy a coffee, a cocktail or a comforting bite.

The Events Chef will be responsible for executing dishes and instruction from established BEO details.

They will be taking into consideration allergens, dietary restrictions, and working with the culinary and Sales team to execute on the client's needs.


They will also be given purview over:

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prep needs for large scale events
  • Quality control for all dishes presented
  • Adhering to timelines notated on BEOs
  • Ensuring health standards are exceeded at all times
  • Working with the Events Manager and Events FOH / BOH staff to ensure a smooth service and delivery
  • Assisting the Executive Chef as needed on large scale events

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution

  • Knowledge of safety initiatives in compliance with OSHA guidelines

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Culinary Arts or hospitality management certification required, college education preferred. Minimum two years experience in an events kitchen (including banquets and/or catering) required. Previous experience in a kitchen supervisory role preferred. Previous experience with controlling food cost, labor cost and operational costs is required.

Previous experience with control food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development, and pricing and development of culinary team preferred.

Premise and liability accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable. Additional certifications (ServSafe, TiPS, etc.) preferred.


LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIES

  • Ability to understand service needs and requests.
  • Ability to acknowledge requests in a polite manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).
  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.

  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.
