What You'll Do:
We're looking for a Director, Client Relationship Management to join our Relationship Management team.

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering unparalleled client experiences, fortifying relationships, and expanding our institutional client base.


  • Cultivate an indepth understanding of Principal Asset Management's investment strategies and client solutions, adeptly identifying opportunities to address evolving client needs
  • Oversee endtoend service delivery for institutional clients, orchestrating seamless collaboration across internal teams to provide optimal levels of service excellence
  • Spearhead engagement initiatives with our existing client base, conducting comprehensive client portfolio reviews, due diligence exercises, and retention activities
  • Craft and execute robust client account plans and retention strategies for our portfolio of clients, ensuring sustained client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Foster a profound comprehension of institutional clients and their diverse needs across various asset classes, including alternative investment products
  • Collaborate closely with Distribution, Investment teams, and Consultant Relationships to develop enduring relationships, enhance client retention, and drive growth opportunities, with a primary focus on institutional clients
  • Coordinate client events seamlessly, from onboarding processes to mandate changes and offboarding procedures, in close partnership with the client implementation team and client service associates

Who You Are:

  • Possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing institutional asset management clients, demonstrating a track record of success in client retention and institutional relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with consultant and sales teams, delivering exceptional client experiences while expanding engagement with existing clients
  • Extensive experience across multiple asset classes, including but not limited to real estate, equities, and fixed income
  • FINRA licensing, including the SIE or equivalent, series 7, and 63 (or 66), are required within 6 months of employment

Travel is required. This could be around 60% depending on where you live and the clients' needs.

Salary Range Information:
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.

Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.

Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.


Salary Range:
$ $207000 / year

Time Off Program:

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

We're open to considering in-office or hybrid talent. Locations for hybrid talent are New York City, Charlotte, Chicago, Des Moines, or Seattle.


Work Environment:


This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements.

You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
