    Job description

    We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our Laguna Beach Office.

    In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing tax returns for high-net-worth clients, focusing on individuals, businesses, trusts, and estate tax returns.

    Our firm operates in the cloud and follows a paperless procedure. This position will require working in the office.


    Responsibilities:


    Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), and corporations (1120 and 1120S) income tax returns to satisfy compliance requirements and support effective business/tax planning.

    Developing tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant
    Perform budget and cash flow projections.
    Monitoring developments in tax legislation, Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation
    Supervising, training, and mentoring Tax preparer staff
    Identifying tax problems and developing solutions
    Use applicable federal, state, and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
    Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state, and local government entities
    Build customer relationships to promote and expand the business

    Qualifications of the Tax Preparer:
    Previous experience in public accountant firm preferred (7 years plus)
    2+ years of

    management/supervisory

    experience required
    Proven track record of exceptional client service and business development
    Demonstrated leadership and management skills
    Strong technical expertise in their practice area
    A commitment to the firms growth and success
    An interest in mentoring and developing junior staff
    A willingness to invest in the firms future through a buy-in process
    Experience with major tax preparation software (Lacerte, Excel, QuickBooks)

    Must Have:
    Current California CPA License or Master's Degree in Tax
    Proficient in Lacerte Tax Preparation and QuickBooks Software

    Compensation:
    Up to $200K plus bonuses + relocation package (if necessary)
    100 % employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees
    3% company 401K matching with no vesting period
    24 days Paid Time Off accrued annually including 9 holidays
    After 3 years, PTO increases to 31 days including 9 holidays
    Flexible time off (if necessary), hybrid 1-2 days/ week in office
    Bonus based on performance
