- Direct and coordinate the manufacturing operations of the plant, including the assembly, inspection, and shipping of prefabricated buildings.
- Develop and implement efficient production processes and quality control systems to meet production targets and ensure the highest quality of manufactured buildings.
- Manage and optimize plant operations for maximum efficiency and productivity, including machinery maintenance, workflow, and space utilization.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the plant workforce, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and cost targets.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and building codes specific to the manufactured housing industry.
- Collaborate with R&D, sales, and customer service teams to align production capabilities with market demands and customer expectations.
- Prepare and manage the plant budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Recruit, hire and train staff for production, delivery and service functions.
- Monitor operations for compliance and own the corrective action process.
- Lead the workplace safety and compliance program.
- Ensure all distribution, service and equipment are maintained and meet DOT regulations.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure acceptable return on assets.
- Manage process to address personnel issues and grievances and administer Ulrich's disciplinary policy.
- Do "Not My Job" activities that benefit the company, our employees and our customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the construction or manufactured housing industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality control standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing management software and Google Suites, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Infor.
- Knowledge of the specific regulations and building codes applicable to the manufactured housing industry is highly desirable.
- Thorough understanding of blueprints, AutoCad drawings, and construction documents.
- Self-starter and team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial/leadership environment.
- Ability to lead, coach, train and mentor employees
- Drive excellence throughout the manufacturing operations, ensuring that all quality standards are met.
