    The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) focuses on promoting inclusive excellence in graduate education, research, and professional training to maintain high standards across academic divisions. SGS plays a key role in defining and enforcing University-wide regulations for graduate education. They collaborate closely with various academic divisions, providing guidance, overseeing processes, and advocating for graduate education both within the University of Toronto and the broader academic community.
    Your opportunity:
    As the Manager, Student Systems, reporting to the Associate Director, Systems & Reporting, you will work collaboratively with the SGS team and other University sectors. Your main focus will be ensuring the efficient implementation of technology-supported business procedures, data management, and reporting related to the graduate student lifecycle. You will be responsible for sourcing, implementing, and managing technology solutions to enhance various student-related processes from recruitment to graduation. Additionally, you will lead a team dedicated to providing comprehensive support to graduate units.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Leading and planning IT projects
    • Developing and updating architectural framework for confidential university-wide databases
    • Implementing program enhancements and maintaining standards
    • Providing advisory on data requirements
    • Modifying complex subsystems
    • Analyzing service procedures and suggesting improvements
    • Advising on streamlining business processes
    • Serving as a resource on specialized matters to a group of specialists
    Essential Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Graduate Studies, Information Technology, and Project Management in Higher Education
    • Expertise in the Technolutions Slate platform or a related platform
    • Demonstrated success in project management, data analysis, and meeting deadlines
    • Familiarity with University of Toronto policies and procedures
    • Strong SQL writing skills
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
    • Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail
    Assets (Nonessential):
    • Experience in data analysis, business process analysis, and system implementation
    • Direct involvement in projects using the software development life cycle
