    The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) promotes University-wide inclusive excellence in graduate education, research and professional training to ensure high standards across the various academic divisions, as well as supporting postdoctoral fellows.

    SGS defines and administers University-wide regulations for graduate education.

    We share responsibility for graduate education with graduate units and divisions and operates through a system of collegial governance,consultation, and decanal leadership.

    develops performance standards; supports access, equitable inclusion, fairness, and ethical conduct in graduate education; organizes services and financial assistance to graduate students; encourages a close and positive relationship between research and graduate instruction and represents the cause of graduate education at the University of Toronto and in the broader academic and general community.

    Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Systems & Reporting, the incumbent will collaborate with the SGS team and other University divisions to ensure high-quality execution of technology-supported business processes, data management, and reporting related to the graduate student lifecycle.

    Additionally, they will source, implement, and manage technology solutions and processes to support recruitment, application, admissions, registration, student progress activities, and graduation.

    The incumbent will manage a team dedicated to empowering graduate units through comprehensive and timely support.

    The role will oversee the admission application cycle, the implementation of academic changes in systems, the accuracy of system data, internal process documentation, and client-centered support.

    They will develop and facilitate system implementation plans, manage projects, communicate regularly with stakeholders, and coordinate documentation and knowledge sharing.

    The role will also serve as a product owner of the School's systems, inclusive of GradApp (Technolutions Slate). The incumbent will provide and analyze student data for SGS and divisional leadership. The role serves as a liaison and resource with IT staff, third-party services, and other key stakeholders.
    • Leading and planning IT projects
    • Developing and updating architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide databases
    • Providing consultative advice on data requirements

    Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
    Minimum five (5) years of experience in Graduate Studies, Information Technology and Project Management in Higher Education.
    Expert knowledge of Technolutions Slate platform or related platform.
    Proven record of successfully managing projects, working independently, analyzing data and meeting deadlines.
    Working knowledge of the policies and procedures of the University of Toronto.
    Excellent SQL writing skills
    demonstrated effective project management skills
    Ability to align operations to support strategic graduate enrolment management goals
    Ability to work effectively with a wide range of academic and administrative staff and applicants/students
    Excellent time management, prioritization, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail
    Ability to work with minimal supervision and to act on one'sown initiative
    Ability to learn quickly from reference manuals and on-line help facilities

    Assets (Nonessential):

    Experience with data analysis and data modeling, business process analysis, writing technical specifications and use cases, optimizing and implementing new systems
    Direct experience with projects using the software development life cycle
