**Rail Scheduler

  • Texas International Terminal**Texas International Terminals is looking for a Rail Scheduler to join the logistics department in Galveston, TX. The Rail Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all rail movements to ensure terminal rail fluidity.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Daily rail planning with Logistics and Operations on terminal rail priorities.
  • Daily Planning with both the UP and BNSF rail operations on Galveston Island.
  • Manage daily railcar inventory on site and in route to the terminal.
  • Schedule and coordinate all railcar repairs with customer's approved vendors.
  • Submit Waybills for all loaded railcars/trains.
  • Build waybill patterns with customers.
  • Schedule all unit trains through terminal days in advance.
  • Proactively adjusts the terminal schedule when conflicting rail objectives disrupt planned movements.
  • Provide Operational Unload support, paperwork for all railcars and unit trains.
  • Provide 1224hr rail operating plan for TXIT and New Port.
  • Review all unit train scorecards with Operations.
  • Understands contractual requirements and manages rail costs to move products in the most costefficient manner.
  • Assist logistics coordinators on unit train and manifest releases after hours.
  • Monitor warehouse and tank capacity to minimize rail offload delays.
  • Daily communication with both the BNSF and UPRR on terminal slot plans.
  • Weekly communication with all terminals rail customers.
  • Manifest railcar and Unit Train ordering
  • BNSF/UP.
  • Approving customer train request on BNSF website.
  • Monitor unit train releases to minimize rail demurrage.

Expectations:


  • Provides customer support and resolves any logístical requirements for product and cost savings efficiencies to further maximize Texas International Terminal's profitability.
  • Provides guidance to logistic coordinators on rail plans.
  • On call to answer rail related questions.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work at elevated heights, including using lifts, ladders, and stairs.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Work is done outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Position Details:

  • Shift work must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Non-Exempt position.
