    The Victoria Port Power II Peaking Power Plant, situated in the heart of Victoria, Texas has a capacity of 100 megawatts (MW).

    At its core are two aero-derivative GE LM6000 simple cycle gas turbines, renowned for efficiency and reliability. The plant is equipped with Woodward MicroNet controls, guaranteeing seamless operation and precision in power generation.

    The Point Comfort facility utilizes GE LM6000 simple cycle gas turbines with a conditional capacity of up to 100 MW, complemented by Allen Bradley controls for efficient operations.

    Opportunity SummaryThe Plant Manager is tasked with leading the operations of two simple cycle gas turbine power generation facilities, offering a dynamic opportunity for seasoned leadership.

    Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, managing plant outages, and implementing training programs to uphold operational efficiency.

    Additionally, the role involves spearheading continuous improvement initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and engaging with stakeholders to promote positive community relations and environmental responsibility.

    Primary FunctionsYour scope of responsibility as Plant Manager includes the following primary functions:
    Ensure alignment between plant personnel and client objectives to meet operational requirements.
    Administer Safety, Operations, NERC Compliance, Maintenance, Administrative, Training, Chemistry, and Environmental QA/QC programs for safe and efficient plant operation.
    Manage planned and unplanned plant outages to ensure smooth execution.
    Implement training and qualification programs to ensure adherence to plant procedures by all personnel.
    Conduct periodic reviews of plant policies and procedures to reflect current operational requirements.
    Direct the recruitment and onboarding process, sourcing, screening, and hiring new personnel as needed.
    Verify and maintain certification status of operational and maintenance personnel.
    Maintain high morale and motivation among plant personnel.
    Oversee preparation of client and utility reports, budgets, and environmental compliance documentation.
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

    Manage relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring that services and materials procured meet quality standards, contractual obligations, and budgetary constraints.

    Act as a liaison between the plant and the local community, government agencies, and other stakeholders, fostering positive relationships, addressing concerns, and promoting environmental and social responsibility initiatives.

    Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring readiness to address any unforeseen incidents or crises effectively, safeguarding personnel, the environment, and the integrity of plant operations.

    All NAES managers and supervisors ("Supervisors") have a direct and important role in ensuring that all work is performed in a healthy and safe manner.

    Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each supervisor's performance.

    This includes, but is not limited to, the following functions:
    Conduct/Support Regular Safety Meetings (at least monthly).Address Safety at all Group Meetings.


    Conduct Inspections and Observations:

    establish within the department a regular inspection of the work area and a safety observation process of work being performed.

    Establish and lead these activities following any rules, requirements or guidance established in your business unit, group or division. Involve all NAES teammates in the activities. Analyze result, write work orders, train and educate to eliminate hazards, at-risk behavior and meet company regulatory requirements.


    Conduct Regular Observation Tours:
    Conduct no less than two safety observation tours of high-risk activities e.g.

    confined space to verify that employees are performing the work in accordance with safe practices, company procedures and OSHA regulations.


    Regular and Frequent Contacts:

    conduct one-on-one contact sessions with workers to discuss safety issues, communicate expectations and coach safe behaviors, e.g., whether the employee is wearing all required personal protective equipment.


    Respond to Incidents:

    respond to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, incidents and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause and recommend corrective action following any established business unit or division practice.

    Follow up as necessary to ensure that corrective action is taken. Working RelationshipsThe Plant Manager reports to the Operations Director and supervises the managers, technicians, and Plant Administrator.

    The Plant Manager is the single point of contact between NAES and the Owner on all matters pertaining to the operation, maintenance, and commercial management of the plant.

    Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.

    Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.).

    There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
    Fitness for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. Work ScheduleThis position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule, during regular dayshift hours.

    Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.

    "On call" status will periodically be required. Some travel may be involved to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
    CompensationInitial starting compensation will range from $150,000 to $175,000, and will include an annual performance bonus.

    Job QualificationsWe are seeking a candidate who has extensive technical power plant and leadership experience with a work history that demonstrates a pattern of accomplishments and advancement.


    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field:

    Provides a foundation in engineering principles and technical understanding relevant to power plant operations, including familiarity with power plant operation and maintenance systems.

    Proven ability to manage power generation facilities, including supervision of technical, supervisory, and hourly personnel, showcasing strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.

    Knowledge and understanding of applicable environmental laws and regulations governing power plant operations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.

    Demonstrated ability to develop ideas and plans supporting total business objectives and goals, showcasing strategic thinking capability for long-term plant optimization.

    Effective communication abilities to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely, facilitating collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

    Experience in budgeting and cost control, with a proven ability to manage budgets effectively to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
