Summary
Inspect and fill all plastic injection machines and associated equipment. Ensure that all specifications and standards are in technical compliance.


Essential Functions:


  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment in production areas.
  • Troubleshoot PLC hardware and software issues.
  • Diagnose, analyze and repair electromechanical and instrumentation equipment using meters, gauges and other testing methods.
  • Assist supervisor in writing and updating standard maintenance procedures and work instructions. Verify accuracy of work instructions in assigned areas and suggest changes to supervisor/team leader.
  • Prepares work areas to ensure tools needed are available and in proper working order.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves equipment problems while demonstrating proactive maintenance concepts and employees' best practices.
  • Complete/perform PM assignments and documentation as scheduled.
  • Effectively communicate with Team Leaders and Supervisors regarding safety/quality/production concerns.
  • Maintains good housekeeping using the 6S principles.
  • Identify need of replacement or of new equipment and inform supervisor.
  • Provide engineers necessary information for continuous improvement strategies and assist supervisor in writing and updating standard preventive maintenance procedures and work instructions.
  • Be cooperative with coworkers in order to maintain a good working environment.
  • Responsible to attend any training classes scheduled by supervisor.
  • Focus on safety at all times safe working habits, safe work area, and follow all general industrial safety guidelines. Contact supervisor or team leader if any safety problems are observed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Preferred 2 year technical degree or equivalent combination of education/ experience
  • Preferred 2+ years of hydraulic mechanic work experience.
Industrial Maintenance: 3- 5 years

  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Injection Molding experience is a plus
  • Previous experience with
    ton machines:
  • Must be able to multi
- task and work independently in a fast
- paced production environment

  • Must be able to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reaction
  • Must be able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms
  • Able to work with other maintenance, process and production personnel as necessary or directed in problem solving of equipment and production issues
  • Able to read and interpret, on a basic level, ladder logic, pneumatic, instrumentation, hydraulic and electrical drawings and manuals
  • Use of precision measuring, gauging tools and electrical meters
  • Experience with AC and DC motors, starters, PLC, capacitance & inductive sensors, relays, etc.
  • Lean 5s experience is a plus
  • Must be able to take a written skills assessment test prior to hiring
  • Must be available to work any shift

Physical Job Requirements:


  • Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 75 pounds). Must be able to work from elevated platforms and ladder lifts.
