Description
Position SummaryPennEngineering Winston-Salem is looking for mechanically-inclined individuals to enter its progressive training program.Through our state-certified Screw Machine Apprenticeship Program, trainees will be assigned a mentor and learn to set-up and operate multi-spindle screw machines; which includes rough and finish turning, facing, boring, drilling, reaming, tapping, threading and forming.
Trainees will receive hands-on training from experienced operators, attend training and quality classes, and are eligible for pay increases with successful progression.

Successful candidates in this role have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic math skills. The ability to read blueprints is a plus.Candidates must also meet the following physical requirements:
Must be able to stand throughout an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift.
Must be able to bend forward, stretching forward, reaching into machine as needed to perform the aforementioned job duties.
Visual acuity to read micrometers, inspect small parts, and adjust tooling.
Must be able to lift up to forty (40) lbs, ten (10) times throughout an eight (8) hour shift.
Occasional lifting up to seventy-five (75) lbs. may be necessary.
Near vision must be at least 20/30Although this is a night shift role, candidates will train on day shift for at least 3 months prior to being transferred to night shift.
