    Summary

    As a Registered Nurse, you will provide rapid deployment healthcare support at Medical Special Needs Shelters in Louisiana, in collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Health. You will assist patients with daily activities, administer medications, monitor patient progress, educate patients and families on health management, and document patient information accurately.

    Job Duties:

    • Provide general medical care and treatment to patients, under direction of Physician and NP/PA (Including when Physician is out of office).
    • Assure operational readiness for emergency care/treatments.
    • Perform medical evaluations and provide treatments for occupational and nonoccupational medicine injuries and illnesses within scope of contract.
    • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician or NP/PA.
    • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Discuss case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
    • Observe universal precautions regarding blood-borne pathogen programs for patient protection and personal protection.
    • Observe regulatory agencies' standards regarding hazardous waste management/disposal.
    • Appropriately record in medical record: Any patient visits, treatments and services administered.
    • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by Physician and NP/PA.
    • Participate in all required training and response management.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

    As a Registered Nurse (RN), you must hold an active, unrestricted, and current nursing license in the U.S., along with an active American Heart Association BLS certification. An associate degree in nursing with a one year minimum of related clinical experience is required, though a bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Additionally, you should have at least one year of emergency response experience.

    • Must be able to work safely, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
    • Work collaboratively to enhance safety culture and quality.
    • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
    • Must frequently push, pull, reach, and bend.
    • Required to have up-to-date vaccinations.
    • Must be adept at multi-tasking, detail-oriented, organized, and have strong verbal and communication skills.
    • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and work well within a team.
    • Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
    • Must successfully complete the Credentialing Process.
    • Proficiency in English and additional languages as needed.
    • Must be able to respond within 72 hours to designated locations when requested.
