- 6+ months of Medical Assisting experience
- Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, NCCT, RMA, AMT, etc.) (if NOT certified, as long as they can obtain it within 6 months)
- Graduated from an MA accredited program
- CPR certified (or ability to be certified within first 90 days of hire)
- Experience with EMRs/EHRs - Epic experience is preferred
- Works well with teams/team player
- Strong communication skills both written and orally
- Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain vital signs, review, and reconcile pertinent patient information and history in preparation for appointment with provider.
- Administer diagnostic tests and physician-approved procedures, such as immunizations and others as assigned.
- Successfully collaborate and work in support of the team to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
- Update the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information.
- Successfully work in a fast-paced, changing environment. with effective time management and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Schedule patient appointments answer the telephone, and follow-up with patients/families in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participate in site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives on an ongoing basis.
- Attend and actively participate in huddles and team meetings.
- Always maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
- Sustain excellent patient interactions using clear communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of office conduct.
- Punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance.
