Let's change the world In this vital role the Contracting Business Technology Director will join our Contract Development leadership team within US Value Access and be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of technology improvement requests from business stakeholders across the organization.
This position requires a dynamic leader and innovative strategic problem solver committed to delivering innovative capabilities to the US V&A organization.
We are seeking a business leader who understands technology, can lead multiple workstreams concurrently across multiple business units, and can effectively manage change across a complex organization.
As a business technology leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological future, improving user experiences, and ensuring efficient business operations.
Critical to this role is the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and a metrics and measurement plan that will allow the team to monitor workflows, business performance, and team efficiency and effectiveness across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Shaping Amgen's Future
- Serve as Primary liaison for the business with Global Commercial Operations Digital Technology and Innovation Centers of Excellence to translate, negotiate and influence business needs into system solutions
- Lead team to evolve capabilities within our contracting ecosystem to improving reporting and contracting workflows within Conga CPQ & CLM
- Identify opportunities to automate redundant business processes with Artificial Intelligence
- Partner with IT to thoroughly explain business needs and enable the IT product team to develop detailed technical requirements & design options
- Ensure data and process compatibility while minimizing disruption to dayto day business operations
- Lead KPI workstreams and initiatives on metrics measurement and reporting
- Prepare business cases for resource allocation as needed
Maintain System Continuity and Build Business Capabilities Roadmap:
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive business capability roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives
- Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge
- Manage prioritization of business capabilities within the product backlog
- Champion and influence organizational change through daily behavior and in the implementation of business needs within technical solutions to support those needs
- Resolve conflicts among internal organizations and build collaborative relationships both internally and externally
User Experience Strategy:
- Lead team to define a usercentric approach that empowers US V&A staff to maximize productivity within Amgen's Contract Management Ecosystem
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to create seamless, intuitive, and customer focused experiences
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and lead broader team to evolve workflows to achieve efficiency gains
- Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs
Lead team and develop talent:
- Inspire, train, and establish roles and responsibilities. Prioritize work for business technology manager who will report into this leader.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience
Or:
Master's degree and 8 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience
Or:
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of business or data analytics and/or commercial operations experience
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years of experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources.
