Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Familiarity with and utilizing department standards.
  • Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor's activities are planned and executed with safety first.
  • Responsible for the safe performance of all contractors on the assigned project.
  • Consulting with design leaders, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality of technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes.
  • Promoting continued relationships with clients.
  • Participating in field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
  • Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
  • Providing onsite assistance during startup.
  • Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Consulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.
  • Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.
  • Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input.
  • Reviewing construction specifications.
  • Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinating contractor activities to avoid lost time due to problem resolutions or lack of direction.
  • Monitoring contractor resource assignments to ensure that the correct numbers of resources are assigned to the work.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.


Licensing:
General Contractors License is highly preferred.

Experience:
This position requires a minimum 10 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience. Additional concentration and experience supporting E&I needs is beneficial for this role.
