Staff Computer Architect in Santa Clara, CA.

Overview:

Core Job Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop computer and network schemes for sophisticated robotic systems using requirements developed through multifunctional team input.
  • Define the proper balance between computational capabilities and power/thermal requirements.
  • Deliver documentation to support designs such as technical reviews, engineering studies, and theory of operations.
  • Perform component and subsystem level testing to ensure design, safety, and compliance conformance.
  • Conduct robust design reviews and contribute to design failuremode analysis.
  • Lead subsystem projects with mínimal guidance and act as a mentor to younger engineers.
  • Define priorities with limited oversight according to program objectives.

Qualifications:


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:


  • Bachelors with 8+ years or Masters with 6+ years in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Proven track record providing technical direction, mentorship, and expertise to others, including external contractors, partners, and suppliers.
  • Experience with SoM/SoC's, realtime computing, and network architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate, debug, and test using network analyzers, logic analyzers, and other similar tools.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:


  • Proven experience designing and developing complex electrical systems from feasibility/concept through to production.
  • Experience with embedded systems and realtime computer systems.
  • Experience optimizing computers for Ubuntu Linux, QNX, and similar operating systems.
  • Design of computers for testing, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Experience in Medical Devices, 21 CFR Part 820, IEC606011, etc.

Business hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This position's anticipated base pay range is $139,000.00 to $224,825.
