Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Counselor in the Opportunity House program at Behavioral Health Network
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Opportunity House program with the following:
- Providing guidance and direct counseling for individuals served.
- Supporting individuals' growth, independence, and safety.
- Developing and facilitating treatment plans and diverse psychoeducational groups.
- Providing crisis intervention and emergency services, when needed.
- Assisting individuals with aftercare planning by providing referrals and access to appropriate agencies.
- Providing transportation for individuals, as needed.
- Completing program specific documentation such as incident reports and progress notes
- Working as a collaborative team to deliver highquality, sound clinical treatment.
- Growing through ongoing training and firsthand experience to enhance skills and provide additional employment opportunities.
Who are we?
At the Opportunity House, Behavioral Health Network provides a structured setting for men 18 year of age and older to progress from early recovery to a productive community living environment. Our 24-hour long-term residential program assists individuals using a variety of services, including counseling, case management, education and pre-vocational services, and family reunification.

What are we looking for in a Counselor?
- Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration for individuals served.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required).
- LADCI or LADCII or equivalent (preferred).
- At least one year of experience working in substance treatment environment (required).
- At least 12 years of experience in human services (required).
- Working knowledge of DPH Bureau of Substance Abuse regulations.
- Valid Driver's License (required).
- Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (required).
