JOB DESCRIPTION
Electronics Hardware Software Technician is commonly engaged in the following activities:
- Modifying custom firmware implementations for implementation into existing products.
- Programming, reprogramming FPGAs (Xilinx ZYNQ) as needed to correct issues or add/change features.
- Produce and maintain project documentation related to software, firmware, and hardware systems, including wiring diagrams.
- Testing and troubleshooting production circuit boards.
- Soldering components to repair production circuit boards.
- Testing and verification of repaired production circuit boards.
- Read and understand component datasheets for a wide range of passive components and ICs.
- Identify replacement components for a wide range of obsolete passive components and ICs
- Populate PCBs with surface mount and through hole components along with assisting in testing and troubleshooting of electronic and electrical systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Soldering components to assemble custom circuit boards.
- Testing and verification of custom circuit board designs, recommend improvements.
- Participate in concept generation and problem solving during brainstorming sessions with coworkers.
- Develop embedded microcontroller, FPGA, ARM, and PC style firmware and software.
- Creating custom firmware implementations on a variety of platforms for implementation into advanced test fixtures, prototype designs, and marketable products
- Address complex and difficult technical issues requiring creative approaches, drawing on experience, accepted practice, and engineering concepts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Desired qualifications for this position include:
- Enrolled in or pursuing a pathway to a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechatronics/Multi-Disciplinary, Biomedical, or related engineering disciplines.
- Strong selfstarter who can work with mínimal or no supervision.
- Ability to work in fast paced, deadlineoriented environment.
- Well organized, detail oriented, and a team player
- Able to work an average of 20 hours per week or more between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., M-F.
