Full-Time, in-office position located in Annapolis, MD.

Description

Our Billing Department is seeking an experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to perform in depth insurance and benefit investigations for complicated surgical cases.

This position requires strong organizational skills, great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. The ideal applicant must have prior experience in obtaining surgical authorizations, insurance verification, benefit investigation and charge posting. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.


The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Insurance verification (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, Worker's Comp)
  • Insurance benefit investigation
  • Prior Authorizations for 15+ physicians for multiple hospitals and Ambulatory surgery centers
  • Communication with patients regarding their financial responsibility
  • Collection of all patient financial obligations prior to surgery

Requirements:


Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year related work experience


Requirements:


  • Prior Authorization experience.
  • Experience using Allscripts is a plus Urology experience is a plus
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
