- Drives improvement in capacity management and patient flow.
- Develops, implements, and sustains efforts to improve patient flow in partnership with Patient Care Service Leadership and the Project Manager.
- Coordinates, collaborates, and communicates with administration, physicians, nursing management staff, patient and support services, and external agencies to facilitate the delivery of quality patient care.
- Communicates with Nurse Leaders and the staffing office to inform and assist in resource allocation.
- Serves as the onsite administrative resource for the facility during evenings, weekends, nights, holidays, and other designated time periods.
- Responds to organizational emergencies and issues and escalates issues per policies as needed.
- Facilitates and coordinates bed meetings to support patient flow and resource allocation.
- Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department, or unit patient safety and capacity management initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 4 year / Bachelor's degree (Required)
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or eligible for licensure through reciprocity.
- 4 years of experience in a supervisory or lead clinical role. (Required)
- 0-1 year of clinical expertise in nursing specialty areas. (Preferred)
- 6-9 years of experience in a supervisory or lead clinical role. (Preferred).
- ACLS Certification (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, develop, plan and organize projects.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use computer systems/programs to manage clinical/administrative data.
- Previous experience with scheduling of staff for a large unit.
- Exceptional clinical expertise in Medical Surgical and Critical Care Nursing.
- General understanding of data collection and analysis.
- General understanding of financials for a hospital unit.

Job DescriptionI. General Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Care Services, a Nurse Supervisor Flow Coordinator coordinates, prioritizes and optimizes patient flow activities by utilizing bed placement, staffing, and clinical information to optimize patient throughput.
