We seeking a caring individual to provide students well-balanced and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or compensating experience
• Ability to relate positively to staff and students
• Ability to bend, stoop, turn, squat, stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to thirtyfive (35) pounds
• Good human relations and communication skills
• Must successfully pass the Illinois Department of Public Health Food Handler Training within thirty (30) days of hire
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff and students
• Passing of drug screening and criminal background check

• Check daily deliveries for accuracy and call distributors' Customer Service Department to report errors
• Recording food temperatures upon arrival
• Preparation of food and prepares the cafeteria counter
• Set up serving lines and serve meals in compliance with USDA regulations
• Store and handle food and supplies in accordance with the HACCP procedures
• Follow prescribed housekeeping and food safety procedures to ensure that sanitary and safe conditions are met with regard to health department and HACCP regulations
• Participate in routine cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and supplies
• Participate in monthly deep cleaning routine of all kitchen prep areas, equipment and storage areas
• Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate respect for students and staff
• Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter in an effective and pleasant manner
• Inform administration of any supplies needed
• Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion
• Abide by all health department and Standard of Operations rules
• Take any required testing for ongoing trainings in a timely manner
• Represent Connections Academy East in a professional manner

• This position is parttime Monday through Friday from 9:302:30
• Comply with all policies and procedures as established by Connections Academy East
• Salary range $ $17.00 an hour

• Day shift

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

• Lake Forest, IL 60045: Relocate before starting work (required)
