The Next Generation Therapeutics group is a newly formed team with a focus on using novel therapeutic modalities to deliver medicines for chronic pain and neurodegenerative disorders.

The group, based at our Cambridge Innovation Center in Kendall square, will work with internal and external partners to identify, and deliver new novel therapies into patients at speed.

The team is seeking experienced and inspiring scientists to join our fast-paced, interdisciplinary team as we leverage innovative RNA/oligonucleotide/gene and genomic based therapeutics to enhance our portfolio.


Key Objectives/Deliverables:


  • Perform small animal surgical and technical procedures, including but not limited to intracerebral, intracerebroventricular and intravenous injections in rodents.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and refine surgical techniques, based on previous experience.
  • Have a strong dedication to animal welfare while expanding both their scientific knowledge and surgical and technical procedure portfolio.
  • Perform CNS tissue dissection, trimming and processing, collect bodily fluids (blood, cerebrospinal fluid).

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in neuroscience or related fields preferred.
  • 1+ years of work experience: Industry experience preferred but not required.

Additional Skills/Preferences:


  • 2+ years of work experience in industry setting is preferred.
  • Experience in working with neurosciencerelevant in vivo models and assays to support drug discovery programs.
  • Knowledge of drug delivery in key CNS regions in animal model is preferred.
  • Expertise in CSF/plasma collection and CNS tissue dissection and processing is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of brain and spinal cord anatomy is preferred
  • Able to work independently as well as within a flexible teamoriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral and demonstrated efficiency in collaborating across functional boundaries.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in RNAi/gene therapy discovery is preferred.
