Organization:

PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation PAD


Position Overview:


Manages daily operations, conducts research, administers programs, prepares budgets, and develops strategic plans for and assures the quality of its services and products.

Works closely with patrons, performs research and assists in locating materials. Performs literature searches and trains patrons on computer-searching techniques. Maintains all library collections through periodic planning and the supervision of inventories and weeding.


EDUCATION:


Master's:
Degree in Library Sciences (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent education/experience.


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Extensive knowledge performing research.

Knowledge of techniques for organizing and classifying knowledge-based information including original and copy cataloging.

Knowledge and experience with preservation and organization of archival materials.

Excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills; including interpersonal skills and telephone communication.

Ability to organize, prioritize, carry out assignments and problem solve with mínimal supervision.

Knowledgeable in a variety of computer systems, software packages and various online library systems and databases.

Ability to work with others in a flexible, cooperative manner.
