- Help WMT DMM elevate importance of Beer, Wine, and Spirits within Walmarts leadership to build the categorys presence in store
- Drive Walmarts store selection criteria, macro space planning, Category & Segment Design & Adjacencies within Total Alcohol
- Create and test new in store signage that helps build awareness of the new SWAS and helps consumers navigate while shopping
- Develop SWAS reporting to track & measure performance and identify opportunities
- Customize COE assortment strategy, category content, price/pack, shopper marketing platform, and brand plans for Walmart
- Partner with COE team to scope and conduct shopper research for the Walmart Total Alcohol objectives; interpret shopper & consumer research to drive category-focused solutions
- Bachelors degree, emphasis in business or marketing related fields
- 5+ years experience in category management
- 2+ years experience in MOD/POG development and category analytics
- Wine & Spirits background in a sales or category capacity preferred
- Experience in and fundamental understanding of store design process
- Strong familiarity with syndicated data, software and measures (IRI, Nielsen, demographic data, panel data, etc.) and digital category manager tools (i.e. Numerator)
- Prior experience processing large data sets into category dashboards via apps like PowerBI
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize& leverage multiple data points/insights (shopper, consumer, category, product) to create retail strategies that unlock growth.
- Understanding of the broader omni channel market outside of Nielsen reported channels
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguity
- Proven ability to think strategically& take insight into action.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Walmart Sr. Category Development Manager will focus on Total Alcohol Category Strategies within our Walmart Category team in Bentonville, AR. The Senior Category Managers primary focus will be in developing insights to lead macro space and category strategy development for SWAS remodels. This role was created to support our department advising role to bring solutions to enhance the shopper experience across adult beverage categories.
