    Substance Abuse Couselor - San Rafael, CA
    Job Type: Full Time
    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counsellor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counselling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction issues. You will work with clients to assess their needs, develop treatment plans, and guide them on their journey to recovery.
    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Communicates with individuals from a person-centered, trauma-informed care approach using motivational interviewing techniques to evaluate, assess and determine the extent of service/support needed for each individual.
    • Facilitates 1-3 evening groups per week, including process groups, didactic groups, and specialty focus groups.
    • Conducts UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures Maintain confidentiality of all client identifying information and maintain appropriate boundaries.
    • Conduct assessments and a comprehensive substance abuse evaluation and drug screening, when directed, with individuals to determine their psychiatric and psychological needs.
    • Acts as an advocate for the client, helping participants maintain a supportive housing environment and assisting patients with maintaining housing status.
    Qualification:
    • Per our Federally Qualified Healthcare Centre (FQHC) requirements, employment requires compliance with being able to produce a negative TB test prior to the start of employment, as well as being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
    • REQUIRED: CA DC, NCAC, CAS, or other addition counselling certification by a DHCS-approved organization
