The Freight Technician is responsible for coordinating and executing all freight operations. This role involves managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining accurate records. The Freight Technician plays a crucial role in the efficiency and effectiveness of our logistics operations.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor shipment schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Process shipping and receiving documents and data entry into the logistics management system.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure they are correct and undamaged.
- Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any shipping issues or delays.
- Prepare freight bills and invoices, ensuring all charges are accurate.
- Assist in inventory control and participate in inventory audits to verify stock levels and report discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations related to logistics and shipping.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the logistics department.
- Daily counting and reconciling of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Work outside checking inventory and doublechecking shipment loads
Qualification and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some positions may require postsecondary education or certifications in logistics or related fields.
- Proven experience in a similar role in logistics, shipping, or warehousing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of computer systems and software related to logistics and shipping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
