    The Role

    Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

    • Develop, maintain, and coordinate the Nuclear Work Package in the applicable AWPs, and ensure accurate identification and assignment of NPD work.
    • Import Government AWPs to Microsoft Access as a database, Review AWP for changes and evaluate/make a record of changes for nuclear impact and determine if sufficient information provided
    • Support Program Office scoping meetings to provide immediate feedback on the AWP to the Government.
    • DLARs (Design Liaison Action Request) Determine when clarification or changes are needed to the nuclear work package. Write DLARs requesting clarification or changes, Consult with E81 cognizant groups to ensure they have clarification/ necessary changes to their jobs, Track nuclear DLARs from submittal to incorporation into the AWP. Display the status in the AWP viewer.
    • Review FMRs including referenced documentation (e.g. NLIs) to determine if we have the technical information to plan the work, Incorporate E81 accepted FMRs into the AWP after acceptance by O19.
    • Coordinate technical manual reviews and technical correspondence
    • Review GFI and ensure the cognizant E81 groups are aware of new /changed GFI that may affect them, during planning maintain a list of NucAlts and their nominal Ready for Planning (RFP) and Ready for Accomplishment (RFA) dates, Ensure NNS' GFI needs and problems are communicated to the Government for visibility, Correspond with the cognizant organizations to ensure GFI issues are resolved
    • Support Meetings for Internal and External Customers (e.g. Agenda meetings, IPT, E81 program reviews, scoping meetings with program office/govt), Provide guidance to teams on applicable scopes for work
    Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Supports and participates in negotiations with customer. Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources. Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters. Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.

    Must Have

    Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience

    Master's Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience

    One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
    • NNS Apprentice School graduate
    • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
    • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
    • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
    • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
    • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
    Nice to Have

    Knowledge of NNS Planning Process
    Knowledge of E81 scope of work and ship systems
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with both internal and external customers
