Position Summary:


Provides an intermediate level of expertise in performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities associated with the Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and AGV charging stations.


Essential Functions:


  • Operate and monitor automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to transport materials, goods, or products within the facility.
  • Maintain accurate records of AGV operations, including logs of materials transported, distances traveled, and any incidents or malfunctions.
  • Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective electrical / mechanical maintenance on all AGVs and charging stations, etc. by referring to manuals and manufacturer's recommendations and work instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to report any issues, concerns, or suggestions for improving AGV operations.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new AGV systems or upgrades, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of AGV components, such as sensors, motors, batteries, wheels, hoses, and control systems, following manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to AGV operators and junior technicians, offering training on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for the AGV fleet for weekly, Monthly, and annual PM.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on AGVs, including inspections, lubrication, calibration, and adjustments, to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues with AGVs, utilizing diagnostic tools and schematics to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Identify and correct any safetyrelated issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Control downtime by working with production Supervisors and leads to work on equipment when not needed by production when possible.
  • Work in confined spaces as required using all required PPE and strictly following all safety rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform LOTO (Lock out tag out), Isolate and verify, fill out paperwork as needed to ensure safe repairs on all equipment before starting work.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Report all safety and environmental concerns when issues are found and take steps to eliminate or mitigate when necessary to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Level 1:
  • Experience in operations and equipment maintenance or manufacturing engineer in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
  • Experience reading mechanical prints and schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting or maintaining hydraulics.
  • Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot AGVs and AGV support systems such as drives, control systems, communication systems, gearboxes, charging units, and monitor fleet management software and other supervisory systems.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques for AGV systems and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay:
From $17.50 per hour
