The Warehouse Associate is an entry level position that is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count products.

The associate is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Receiving/Put-Away; unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations.
Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate areas
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage. Report quality variances
Pull and prepare the product for shipment, ensuring the accuracy of orders pulled, is loaded and shipped
Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using a forklift
Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
Complete daily inspection of equipment
Ensure proper stock rotation
Complete and submit daily paperwork as required
Use Radio-frequency equipment for receiving, put away, and load functions as needed (SAP)
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety; comply with OSHA and MSDS standards
Maintain a clean work area through daily sanitation
Support the plant's efforts of DAMAWAY (Danone's system of continuous improvements)
Other tasks as assigned

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of two (2) years Forklift certified experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus, but not a requirement.
Forklift-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to use a computer and knowledge of SAP preferred
Ability to drive a Forklift
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Ability to navigate tight spaces

Language Skills:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have excellent math skills and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability:

Must have the ability to understand to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and laboratory results

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration
