Job Description:

The Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, is seeking an Engagement Program Manager, Folger Music to join our Programming and Performance team. This individual, under the supervision of the Director of Engagement, will administer and manage all Folger Music programming including the Folger Consort program, the resident music ensemble, in its approximately 30 concerts per year and associate crossprogrammatic activities. This role will use musical programming to foster a deeper relationship between the Folger and the community. This individual will collaborate with various departments and community partners to create a longterm music engagement strategy aligned with the institution's mission, vision, and DEIA values. They will offer an innovative vision for audience and community engagement by creating ways for Folger Music to support current audiences and foster relationships with new audiences.

Compensation:
This is a monthly-paid salary position with a pay range of $72,000-78,000 annually.-

Duties:
Acts as primary liaison for Folger Music program members, musicians, and participants to Folger staff and other outside supporters and providers.-
Meets regularly with the Engagement team to develop a comprehensive schedule and plan for the Folger Music season with the rest of the Engagement calendar.-
Directs discussions on planning and scheduling of Folger Consort season; coordinates periodic meetings with artistic directors; research upcoming exhibitions and initiatives at Folger Library and other institutions; and prepares regular summaries of planning activities.-
Works with company management to arrange for housing and travel for guest artists.-
Works with General Manager to contract guest artists, and additional support personnel as needed.-
Coordinates with production team to arrange technical support and production assistants, as needed.-
Working with the theatre production manager and other staff, ensures that all the logístical arrangements for concert rehearsals and performances are in place to ensure smooth concert operations. Responsible for maintenance and security of Folger equipment used in concert operations.-
Coordinates the preparation of Folger Consort concert programs, including working with artistic directors and others as necessary in writing and proofing of notes and texts, listing of donors, production of printed piece.-
Collaborates with Marketing in the strategic marketing of all Folger Music events and the Consort concert series, including subscription campaigns, concert publicity campaigns, print collateral, blog posts, and program notes in collaboration with Consort artistic directors and staff. Promotes local and national media broadcasts, partnerships, and other reputation-building initiatives. Prepares and disseminates marketing communications as needed.-
Manages and edits Folger Consort website pages to include relevant information for audiences. Creates and publishes social media content via relevant platforms.-
Collaborates with Development team in fundraising initiatives for Folger Music and other programs, as appropriate, including donor cultivation and solicitation, proposal writing, maintenance of donor records, and appropriate acknowledgements. Researches and proposes creative funding opportunities whenever possible. Researches and develops partnerships with relevant organizations for financial and in-kind support to Consort programming and activities.-
Works with Production team to ensure proper archival of Folger Music recordings and for online streaming of Consort and other music events.-
