    Swanton Welding Company is seeking a Welder that is proactive, energetic, and a team player that thrives in a manufacturing environment.

    The position is based out of the Wauseon, Ohio location and the hours are Monday
    • Friday from 6:00am 4:00pm.

    Welder ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Welder's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.

    Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear.

    Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

    Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.

    Ability to perform MIG welding activities to steel componentsMaintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working orderVisually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications.

    Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work areaPerforms other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalentWillingness to test and pass welder qualification testThorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.

    Welding experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel productsMust be able to complete a manual welding test.

    Welds are judged on functionality and estheticsMust be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)Ability to work with fractions and decimalsA work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standardsA work history that supports a good to excellent attendance recordStrong mechanical abilitiesFast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environmentDetail oriented approach to daily work activitiesAble to work well in a team-oriented work environmentPositive attitude and willingness to learnWelder PREFERRED SKILLSAt least 2 years' welding experience and able to perform MIG welding.

    Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders.

    Welder PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWalking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently)Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)Temperatures (Occasionally)ADDITIONAL NOTESMay require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
