Summary:


This position supports the administration and production of the Surgical Education and Self-Assessment Program (SESAP) and SESAP Advanced, premier educational resources published online and in print every three years for practicing surgeons and surgical residents.

The Administrator provides exemplary, first line customer support for web-based and print products, including assistance with ordering, continuing medical education credit (CME), and technical inquiries.

This multi-faceted role also supports editorial and administrative activities for ten authoring committees, with 55 authors; a Program Director and Associate Program Director; and the Advisory Committee on SESAP, such as obtaining and documenting copyright permissions and scheduling and coordinating virtual and in-person committee meetings.

The Administrator assists with maintaining required documentation for ACCME and AMA compliance for the provision of continuing medical education credit (CME).

Considerable independent responsibility and strong communication skills are necessary to maintain the high standards of SESAP; support new directions for SESAP; meet the needs of members of the College and other subscribers from the US and abroad; and liaise with internal departments, outside vendors, and volunteers.

This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, SESAP in the Division of Education.


It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote. Starting annual salary = $68,000 to $73,000 (commensurate with related experience).


Responsibilities:


Submit copyright permissions requests, obtain agreements, and maintain tracking system and legal files for approximately 300 third-party materials, such as images and media.

Maintain SESAP image library. Research source of literature citations, format references, and assist editorial staff, as needed.
Schedule approximately 50 virtual and in-person author committee meetings per SESAP edition. Submit required forms and reservations, assist with food and beverage requests, and track expense reports. Liaise with authors to ensure that necessary documentation is current.
Prepare and maintain documentation and files related to CME accreditation. Assist with pulling evaluation data reports and usage statistics and other administrative projects as needed.
Assist with SESAP activities related to the College's annual Clinical Congress, including staffing the SESAP booths. Requires approximately one week of travel to Clinical Congress each year.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required.
