Summary:

_


In compliance with EI regulations, classroom teachers complete all required documentation of each students' progress and development (EI session notes, quarterly reports, justification letters, and child outcome summary exit forms) using the ABA methodology.

Classroom Teachers provide ongoing clinical support to Center-based teacher Aides(TA) as part of the ACP-EI supervision model to promote professional development and ensure quality of services.

Essential Functions_


Direct Clinical:

  • As assigned, classroom teachers delivers ABA instruction to students.
  • Conduct initial and/or post intervention assessments for student, or assign qualified staff to conduct them.

Classroom Management:

  • Ensure 1:1 coverage for every student (student assignment is rotated on a monthly basis).
  • Assign monthly classroom duties to teacher Aids ex: Disinfecting toys, collecting parent communication logs, organizing toy areas.
  • Ensure that classrooms are clean, materials are organized, and learning sections are labeled according to day care regs.
  • Record daily attendance for each student across all sessions.
  • Ensure body checks are being conducted 2x for every child daily by the TA
  • Conduct/document biweekly staff meetings with TAs to review case files
  • Ensure classroom schedules are being followed (aba, snack time, diaper changes etc.)

ABA Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Design individualized instruction based on assessments and each student's IFSP functional outcomes and objectives.
  • Monitor the implementation of ABA programs (i.e. Binder reviews), conduct ongoing ABA training, and provide feedback
  • Maintain clinical support files for all CBA's (i.e. performance evaluations, disciplinary action, etc.)
  • Participate in monthly clinical meetings.
  • Maintain communication with parents and addressing all parental concerns in a timely fashion

Various mtgs will be held on monthly basis which include but not limited to, multi-disciplinary team mtgs, outreach mtgs, quality assurance mtgs, and supervisor mtgs with direct supervisor

Work Environment_

This position operates in a center-based environment.

Physical Demands_

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) while attending to the needs of active children.
  • Must be willing and able to utilize quick body movements as indicted in the Behavior Intervention Plan while working with challenging behavior.

Education and Experience_

  • Bachelors degree in Special education or equivalent related field.
  • A minimum 2 years teaching a class with 2+ years' experience as a Supervisor in an Early Childhood setting

Additional Requirements_

  • Employees in this role are considered essential workers as part of the critical infrastructure.
  • No prior criminal history.
  • NY State Certified, Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)
  • Must meet all DOH EI and daycare requirements.
  • Strong background and knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis.
