VV Logistics is mid size (100+ trucks)trucking company looking to hire onsite yard/ maintenance manager. Familiarity & experience with trucking industry is MUST Worksite is in Melrose Park IL. Works Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all yard operations, including inventory control, fleet management, and sourcing.
- Coordinate transportation logistics and ensure efficient use of transportation management systems.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management procedures to optimize productivity and accuracy.
- Supervise shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of orders.
- Manage dispatching operations to ensure ontime delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with ecommerce teams to support online order fulfillment.
- Monitor and maintain yard safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in yard management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
- Familiarity with fleet management systems and best practices.
- Experience in sourcing and working with thirdparty logistics (3PL) providers.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) for efficient logistics planning.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of warehouse management procedures for effective operations.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes for accurate order processing.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fastpaced environment.
