The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for providing direct daily production quality monitoring and warehouse supply oversight from all respective commodity stock groups for packaging and shipment to Veteran population and VA Medical Facilities.

The Quality Assurance Specialist shall also be capable of performing all Material Handler duties. This position offers opportunities for advancement.


Duties and Responsibilities:


The Quality Assurance Specialist will provide oversight of supply requisitioning, storage, issue, distribution, packing and shipping processes in a warehouse environment.

Quality assurance builds a bridge between the quality standards and the final product.


The QA Specialist will:

  • Outline the Veteran Affairs Supply Distribution Center (SDC) quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Assess, interpret and comply with the SDC quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • Implement procedures of sampling and guidelines for collection and reporting quality data
  • Plan, perform and oversee inspection and metrics to be applied work actions to develop performance standards; Inspect data to detect areas for improvement; Report on results of quality activities
  • Document quality assurance activities, such as inspections, measurements and internal audits
  • Analyze customer grievances and other noncompliance issues
  • Detect training needs, provide reports to Project Manager to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Oversee risk management procedures; report new risks identified to project manager

Minimum Job Requirements:


  • Two years of experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist in a Supply Warehouse environment.
  • Must undergo an employee background check
  • Must have as a minimum a high school diploma
  • Must be knowledgeable of supply operations to include shipping and receiving functions.
  • Licensed to drive/operate Government owned sedans and pickup trucks.
