Financial Aid Counselor

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with applicants to gather information necessary for completion of Financial Aid packaging.
  • Provide an overview of Financial Aid programs available to qualifying students.
  • Determine financial aid eligibility and develop financing plans and review them with students.
  • Provide student followup; resolve issues with students and parents to ensure a timely receipt of aid.

Qualifications / Skills:


  • Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in a financial aid office preferred
  • Prior experience with needs analysis, verification, packaging and the PA State Grant program
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential
  • Must be selfdriven and have a willingness to learn
  • Detail oriented
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and able to work with a nontraditional and diverse student population.
  • Some evening and local travel may be required
  • College degree; may consider equivalent combination of degree and experience
