Under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist, Supervisor, and in close coordination with the North Central Region Hatchery Management Team, the incumbent is responsible for directing the operations and maintenance of the facility, including the culture of various fish species, budget tracking, procurement and contracting, permit compliance and reporting, and staff supervision.

Working Conditions


The work site will be the Feather River Hatchery located at 5 Table Mountain Blvd, Oroville, CA Must be able to use a computer keyboard several hours a day.

Involves sitting, standing, walking and manual labor. Must be willing to live and work in remote areas and wear a prescribed CDFW uniform. Work schedule will include weekends, holidays and unusual hours as assigned, required, or necessary. Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions and away from the hatchery, as required. Occasional travel is required via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.).

Must be able to deploy with short notice for extended periods (up to 7 days) that will include overnight stay.

This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License. No State Housing is available.
