Primary Duties and Responsibilities


The Lead Audio-Visual Specialist is responsible for leading the effective operation of Audio Visual (AV) Services by coordinating equipment, technology, and AV configurations to meet enterprise-wide Hoag meeting and live event needs.

Responsible for supporting the design and implementation of new technology to meet service needs and future growth. Responsible for project managing vendors and IT team members to design and implement new technologies, and upgrades/ enhancements. The AV Specialist Lead monitors and coordinates meetings and events and gives direction to the IT team. The Lead solves problems and minimizes downtime.

The Lead is responsible for proactive maintenance of equipment and orders.

Collaborates with clients on placement, integration, and ensures functionality all equipment (projectors, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, recording and video-conferencing equipment).

The Lead works independently and manages the AV schedule. Coordinates with Event Scheduling for Audio Visual needs on the Master Calendar. Ensures AV set-ups are ready to go, operational, and perform smoothly. Produces AV tracking and performance reports. Adapts to change/remains flexible with the schedules as needed.

  • Collaborates with clients and stakeholders to understand their AV requirement.
  • Conduct performance evaluation and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Working with team and vendor to design and engineer audiovisual solutions based on project specifications. Oversee the installation and integration of AV systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issue promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs or replacements.
  • Leads and mentors the team. The Lead may run multiple meetings at a time implementing software tools and leveraging resources. Appropriately uses the Incident Management process.
  • Willing to learn and readily accepts new responsibilities, is a team player. Adjusts daily assignment scheduling to allow time to work on, and complete, projects as needed. Maintains knowledge of Departmental policies and procedures and participates in continuous quality improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Required:


  • Minimum Five (5) years of engineering experience in healthcare or related technology field in an audio/visual engineering setting.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude for electronic and/or visual equipment Basic PC skills required to troubleshoot as needed. Ability to work flexible hours as dictated by the AV Master Schedule.
  • Experience taking products from concept through detailed design, build and test. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in AV hardware such BI-AMP, Crestron room controller, AV-Bridge, Video Conferencing support.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in visual communications. Recording and editing experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and integrating new capabilities into existing into a hospital setting.
  • Experience with integrating communication systems equipment and associated procedures
