Float pool staff are expected to staff any unit within their area and meet core competencies for their designated area.


This includes, but not limited to:
ICU, Emergency Department, Intermediate Care, & Medical/Surgical Units


Schedule:
Full Time Days, 36 hours per week, 7a-7p, rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Summary and Qualifications:


The Float Pool RN demonstrates independence in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative policies.

Float pool staff will be scheduled through the facility scheduler in accordance with our scheduling policies.

Float staff are required to attend and/or complete mandatory in-services, annual competencies, Health Stream education courses and any other requirements as deemed necessary.


What will you do in this role:

  • Provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, in support of HCA ethical principles and values.
  • Provide safe medication administration for the adult patient population.
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care. Set priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision as needed.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates effectively patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and physicians.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Instructs and educates patients and families providing age and culturally appropriate care.
  • Functions as an effective team member and/or charge RN when needed, orients and mentors new staff members

What qualifications you will need:


  • Registered Nurse with New Hampshire license or active Compact License
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • CPI certification within 60 days of hire
  • PALS certification within 90 days of hire
  • TNCC within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required. BSN preferred
