- Keeps regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions
- Monitors and reviews student work. Modifies and personalizes tutoring strategies to accommodate the different learning styles and needs
- Interacts with LSC staff and/or faculty to obtain any necessary course syllabi or materials, and to develop tutoring materials in support of the course. Delivers feedback as appropriate to staff and/or faculty regarding student progress
- Continues professional education through research and review of relevant material relating to the assigned subject matter
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: - Schedule will depend on department needs

- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of work experience
- Transcripts and/or a proficiency test may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Previous tutoring experience
- Previous academic coaching or mentoring experience

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Primary purpose is to provide supplemental support that focuses on learning strategies, life management skills, and enhancing student success. May tutor students and community members who need learning assistance in assigned discipline(s) and study skills. Responsibilities may include providing tutoring and related services and providing an atmosphere that is conducive to and encourages learning. Responsible for the general areas of student academic support, institutional service, and professional development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
Hourly Pay Rate ranges from $9.92 to $26.35 and is dependent upon education and CRLA certification levels.
