The Floral Production Designer is responsible for the design and production of floral arrangements for events. This position works with other departments to ensure production of events. The Floral Production Designer reports to and receives direction from the Floral Design Manager and/or Floral Director and may receive direction from the Department Lead, and the Weeklies Manager.

Essential Duties | What You'll Do - The Fun Stuff

:


  • Executes production of floral arrangements according to requirements, including following sample and floral formulas.
  • Works onsite on preparing floral décor and follows directions from Event Director.
  • Translates information received from Sales staff into designs that embody the vision of the floral arrangements desired by the client.
  • Develops design ideas and visualizes how arrangements will look after produced.
  • Performs general cleaning duties as needed to ensure safety; ensures the work area and department are maintained according to company standards.
  • Performs basic floral assembly skills, including taping and wiring.
  • Resolves design issues on site and inhouse.
  • Works with other team members to ensure production is efficient and meets company standards.
  • Wraps and packs completed arrangements for proper delivery.

  • Tracks and enters time and assigns hours and tasks to appropriate events and jobs in time and attendance system.
  • Completes all Human Resources and Payroll tasks and notifications through the Employee Self Service Online Portal on a weekly basis, as directed and within established timelines.
  • Assists in other departments as needed and directed.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications | What You Need to Bring

  • 23 years' experience in floral design/production (particularly in a creative or event décor industry).
  • Ability to identify quality of floral products and repeat floral designs for production.
  • Ability to develop, read, calculate, and interpret pull sheets, pricing information, and formulas.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communications and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and good followup.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Familiarity with proper packing methods is helpful.
  • Ability to effectively use tools and equipment that includes: floral knives and cutters, transport equipment, hand tools. May be required to provide own tools.
  • Ability to tolerate long work shifts and work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel locally, and outside the city and state.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements | What it is Like in the Office

  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and reach during entire work shift.
  • Must be able to stand for 6 or more hours.
  • Ability to work with hands and arms during entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more, bend, push and pull carts over the course of the work shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders without accommodation.
  • Ability to handle fragile items safely.
  • Required to move between multiple locations throughout the workday.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction.
  • Must be able to tolerate cold, heat and humid conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate noise.
