The Study at University of Chicago is currently seeking a
Housekeeping Inspector to create a comfortable, clean, and memorable guest experience. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction within the hotel's accommodations. The primary responsibility of this role is to meticulously inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet established cleanliness and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms and public areas according to the hotel's cleaning protocols and guidelines.
  • Verify that all assigned rooms have been cleaned and prepared for guest arrival, including checking for cleanliness, proper bed setup, and functioning amenities.
  • Document and report any maintenance or repair issues found during inspections to the appropriate department.
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure timely and efficient turnover of rooms.
  • Address guest complaints related to cleanliness or room condition in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Assist in training new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, standards, and attention to detail.
  • Monitor the inventory of housekeeping supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
  • Uphold the hotel's reputation for exceptional guest service by consistently delivering highquality accommodations.
  • Occasionally service guests rooms.
  • Performs other duties if required and as assigned, as stated above may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results.

Fundamentals

  • Experience: Two years' room attendant experience required; Industry experience strongly desired.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in hospitality is a plus.
  • Copy of DD214, if Veteran status.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments and guests.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including followup, time management, ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning and chemical usage.
  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Study Hotels is a drugfree workplace.
