Job DescriptionAre you a self-driven professional who excels at Quality and Continuous Improvement?
This position is responsible for overseeing and setting guidelines for quality assurance and Continuous Improvement operations of North America Valmet Board and Tissue Services Business Line.
Prime focuses include providing direction through documented quality manuals, written procedures and mentoring to facilitate continuous improvements both internally and externally, where applicable.
This position is responsible for maintaining local ISO 9001 compliance, continuous improvement/problem solving and for promoting lean initiatives within the organizationExpectations
Ensure that Valmet Pulp and Paper products meet our Quality Management System requirements through documented standards that are aligned with our Quality and Safety Policy and its best customer experience goals.
Coordinate Internal Audits and facilitate Root-Cause Analysis and follow up actions, in cooperation with the technical/engineering team and business process owners.
Assist/Coach site Quality Technical Team and other quality resources in optimized performance of their duties and ensure development of the direct reports as necessary to achieve key product and process quality standards.
Reviews and coordinates quality department's activities to align with other company elements such as Engineering, Purchasing, International Sourcing Team, Customer Service/Support, Inventory/Assembly, Repair/Rebuild Team involved with Valmet North America facilities.
Assure proper Corrective Action/Continuous Improvement initiatives are reported and written root cause is completed and implemented by responsible parties.
To succeed in this role you will need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Management or related education and experience.
Five years previous experience or exposure to quality and manufacturing engineering disciplines, with experience in custom manufacturing, heavy industrial or Industrial Construction desirable.
Ability to travel up to 25% to Valmet locations, customer sites and suppliers
