Description
CARES is a nonprofit organization, that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, ADHD, and PTSD.
Clinicians work in a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, BCBA, and psychiatrists. CARES also has an active APA psychology internship program and APPIC-membership fellowship program.Salary Range:
$54-$65k
Location:Lower East Side, NY, NY
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide evidencebased therapy for anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, ADHD, PTSD, and ASD.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments
- This is a twoyear fellowship
- The first year is focused on learning skills that can be applied to cases and assessments. The second year is honing those skills while developing greater independence as a clinician and supervising others
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Completion of an APA or CPAaccredited doctoral program.
- A minimum of 1,600 intervention hours
- A minimum of 10 comprehensive assessments;
- Dissertation defended
- Experience working with children, adults, and families
- Developmental Disabilities background
Preferred:- Experience with a diverse, multicultural, and multilingual client population
Preferred:- Bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish
Preferred:- Experience or interest in working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent English, maintain effective communication internally and with clients
- Computer proficient (MS Office
- Word, Excel and Outlook) familiar with EMR, EHR
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
