Department Summary

In partnership with and in support of administrative stakeholders, the Business Information Technology team designs, develops, configures, enhances, optimizes, and maintains products and platforms that enable UCLA's business functions (e.g., Budget & Financial Management, Student Information, Faculty Information, Business Information, Human Resource Information, Customer Relationship Management).The CRM Products team conceives, configures, monitors, defines, tests, delivers, monitors, optimizes, and refines CRM products and application technologies, including but not limited to mobile and web applications, collaboration tools, CRM products, budget/financial management products, HR applications, and other services. This department also works to optimize user experience, address digital accessibility needs, and establish the highest standards of quality assurance and release management for UCLA's administrative applications and technologies.
Position Summary

The Senior Software Developer, Salesforce will design, develop, test, integrate and maintain multiple Salesforce applications, including Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud orgs. The Senior Software Developer, Salesforce will own all aspects of architecture, end to end design, development, security, design/development best practices and release management. Will take the lead in software solutions by adhering to functional and technical requirements, evaluating information needs, and collaborating with a broad range of customers, partners, and key stakeholders. This role will be responsible for developing clean code and conducting regular code reviews. They will evaluate system flow, data usage, work processes and resolve issues with Salesforce by performing root cause analysis. Additional responsibilities include providing mentorship to junior developer, conducting research of emerging technologies and industry practices; making recommendations regarding best practices and technologies for adoption and providing input to continual improvement activities for assigned projects.

The Senior Software Developer, Salesforce will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage Faculty Information products and applications. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

Five years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: computer science, computer information systems, software development, or related field. (Required)

Five years or more Experience with Salesforce Development. (Required)

Advance experience with Salesforce release management. (Required)

Experience developing and executing complex test plans. (Required)

Seven or more years Experience working in one or more of the following fields: computer science, computer information systems, software development. (Preferred)

Two years or more Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. (Preferred)

Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)

Advanced knowledge and skill in secure software development, software repository skills, and software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. (Required)

Able to ensure compliance with security protocols for Salesforce. Advance experience developing in Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning Design, and/or LWCs, Visualforce. (Required)

Expertise in languages like , Python, Java, .Net, JavaScript, PHP, or similar. Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. (Required)

Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)

Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)

Advanced organizational skills, ability to balance priorities, deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholders. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree Information technology, computer science/engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience/training. (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement).

The anticipated pay range for this position is $153,000-$170,000, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
