- Apply industry principles, theories, and concepts within ERCOT's environment.
- Exercise judgment to make informed decisions within specified procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
- Act as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert in the department.
- Lead Market Management System (MMS) projects from inception to completion.
- Make independent decisions, especially in complex scenarios.
- Collaborate with various teams on resolving intricate MMS application issues.
- Conduct testing on MMS applications and coordinate with other teams for seamless implementation.
- Ensure continuous support for MMS applications during system upgrades and failovers.
- Develop and test MMS interfaces and application changes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal departments.
- Provide expertise to guide projects and assist team members.
- Demonstrate proficiency in power system software and related tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Adhere to rules, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience beyond degree requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience beyond degree requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience beyond degree requirements.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience beyond degree requirements.
- At least 5 years of experience with generation applications such as Automatic Generation Control (AGC).
- Solid understanding of Generation Control Concepts.
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- The majority of the work can be done remotely from anywhere in Texas.
- Occasional on-site presence may be required at the Taylor facilities based on business needs.
- Flexibility to choose a hybrid work schedule or work on-site full-time.

POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the Grid & Market Solutions (GMS) Applications Engineering - Markets team, you will be responsible for supporting various Market Management Systems (MMS) applications. This includes systems like Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED), Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR), and QSE Training Simulator. Your role will involve participating in the design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of enhancements to these applications.
