Polypack, Inc. is seeking a
Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for its
Pinellas Park, Florida manufacturing plant.

This detail-oriented individual will be an important team player in creating a productive and efficient work environment. This position reports to the Director of Operations.


Schedule:
7am-3:30pm with OT as needed


Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, including but not limited to:
  • Organizing and prioritizing outbound shipments to customers.
  • Coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Receiving raw materials, components, and supplies from vendors.
  • Loading and unloading trucks as well as pack, box, pallet outgoing orders
  • Pack and unpack, label and stock warehouse.
  • Notify buyer of shortages
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • Generate quotes, orders, and invoices timely and accurately when necessary.
  • Inspecting incoming shipments and documentation for accuracy and quality and specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline shipping and receiving operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems.
  • Lead and motivate a team of shipping and receiving personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as production, and purchasing, to ensure seamless coordination of logistics activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ontime delivery, inventory accuracy, and shipping costs, and take corrective actions as necessary to meet targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in shipping and receiving operations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all shipping and receiving staff, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare regular reports on shipping and receiving activities, including inventory levels, shipping volumes, and performance metrics, for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced independent environment.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to meet business demands.
  • Experience operating manual and electric pallet jack.
  • Forklift certification and experience.
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Work authorization in the United States
  • Must pass preemployment background screen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, bending, squatting, crouching, standing, turning/twisting, extending arms to reach, etc.
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to work with arm at shoulder level for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work in dusty, small, noisy, hot and cold environments.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Pay:
From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week.
