Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and execute short, medium, and longterm strategies for advancement of the regional CM practice including identifying new business pursuits and clients, forecasting revenues and investment needs, resource planning, developing marketing strategies, and advancing our standards of practice and execution.
  • Responsible for construction management business development, including identifying, selecting and prioritizing new pursuits; identifying teams for various pursuits; positioning and networking prior to requests for proposals; developing proposal content and leading proposals; lead and mentor the CM team for interview presentations; review/develop fee proposals and project schedules; negotiate contracts; and, manage our client's satisfaction. GEI's marketing team and CM staff will support these efforts with your guidance and direction.
  • Responsible for CM team growth, including the development of a strategic plan to identify necessary resourcing needs. This includes management collaboration, utilizing your network of experienced colleagues and GEI recruiters to actively seek new talent.
  • Mentor and actively lead the CM team, including empowering senior staff to develop and supervise junior staff with your support. This position is ultimately responsible for the entire team's utilization, workloads, training, and professional development within the CM team. Responsible to take an active role in ensuring the overall "health" of the team in terms of morale, productivity, efficiency.
  • Work closely with regional and national leadership to provide updates on the state of the CM practice and receive the support necessary to achieve your goals.
  • Work closely with practice leaders in other areas to develop crossselling strategies and provide support among the different service areas within GEI.
  • Execute work in a variety of different roles which can include project manager, construction manager, principalincharge or technical advisor. This is to meet a reasonable utilization goal, grow your resume and advance your network of clients and professional staff.
  • Actively collaborate with growth leaders and staff at GEI to support the company's goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of previous related professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, a or related discipline
  • Experience in thirdparty, public works construction management
  • Experience successfully delivering teams for municipalities and large public agencies
  • Experience working in water infrastructure and public works in California
  • Proven track record in team leadership
  • Proven track record in public work business development
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
