    Job Description

    Construction Staff Accountant - Temp-to-Hire Opportunity in Novato - $40-$58/hour

    This well-respected Bay Area green builder, developer, and investor is looking for a skilled construction accounting professional to join their team.

    Reporting to the Controller, you will handle accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, project ledgers maintenance, pay requests processing, and coordination with Project Managers for payments and budget adherence.

    • Start Date: Immediate
    • Duration: Temporary with potential for permanent hire
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible hours
    • Location: Onsite in Novato

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable
    • Maintain project bank/cash ledger
    • Support Project Coordinators with subcontractor activities
    • Process subcontractors' pay requests
    • Handle audit-related tasks
    • Manage insurance certificates and IRS reporting
    • Assist with annual audits
    • Other duties as assigned by Controller

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
    • Prior exposure to construction industry is preferred
    • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
