When Johannes Demgen and his son Klaus founded DEFRU Spedition in Oberhausen in 1979, they started their business with just one truck.

Thanks to their focus on qualified drivers, modern vehicles, and providing solutions for all transportation and logistics tasks, the company has been on a growth trajectory from the very beginning. In 1991, they expanded to a second location in Thuringia by taking over VEB Kraftverkehr Saalfeld, along with its 35 employees.

In 2001, the company acquired a 5,000 m2 freight facility in Duisburg, which was later expanded by an additional 5,000 m2 in 2007. In Thuringia, a new location in Guteborn was added in 2009, and in 2012 it was relocated to Ronneburg with a warehouse space of 6,500 m2.
