JOB DESCRIPTION
This position functions, in an entry to experienced level, as a Privacy and Compliance Analyst for the Privacy and Compliance Program of Leon Medical Centers (LMC).
The Privacy and Compliance Program is responsible for ensuring the LMC's compliance with privacy laws and regulations, regulatory agency requirements, third-party guidelines, and internal policies and procedures.
This includes, among others, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), 42 CFR Part 2, the Florida Confidentiality and Privacy Laws, and the Affordable Care Act.
This position assists in supporting and executing the regulatory, investigative, and administrative activities of the Privacy and Compliance Program. This position will also assist in developing policies, trainings, access reports, monitoring end user access and preparing awareness communications.Skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and any confidentiality provisions such as the state Confidentiality laws
- Knowledge and experience with compliance programs and regulatory requirements
- Experience in handling confidential and/or sensitive information
- Experience developing policies, conducting trainings, and possessing analytical skills
- Experience with LMC business model and operational environment

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field or equivalent years of related analyst experience required.
- Demonstrates three to five years of experience in a healthcare organization preferably working in a regulatory environment.
